SSAN Truncation

The IRS pilot program allowing for social security numbers printed on 1098, 1099, and 5498 forms to be truncated is still in effect. The rules apply to SSANs only, not EINs. There is a new checkbox on the PRINT OPTIONS screen that implements this capability. When checked, SSANs will be printed as XXX-XX-1234. This option is available on recipient copies only. All other copies willprint the full SSAN. Even though only the last 4 digits print, the entire SSN must be entered or imported. This program does NOT apply to W2 forms. SSN's on W2 forms must still be printed in full.
YES 2011 Now Available

The YES software for 2011 is now available for download and purchase on this web site. To download a trial version click the DOWNLOAD TRIAL button on this page. If you wish to begin using the software, place your order on this website. The confirmation email of your order will include a registration key that will unlock the trial version. Update letters for the 2011 YES software have been mailed. The software CDs will begin shipping on Monday, Nov 14th. Please note that ALL credit card orders must be placed through this web site. We no longer accept credit card orders via fax or phone.

- January 31 - forms due to recipients
- February 28 - if filing on paper, Copy A forms due to IRS and SSA
- March 31 - if filing electronically, electronic files due to the IRS and SSA
Renew SSA Passwords Now

SSA passwords for electronic filing expire every year. We suggest that you renew your SSA password now before the year end busy season. To renew your password, just log onto the SSA web site and follow the menus.
Edge Document Solutions Selects YES Software

Edge Document Solutions, of Indianapolis, has partnered with NewportWave to provide the YES W2 and 1099 software to Edge clients. By replacing its previous in-house software with YES, Edge brings expanded software capabilities to its customers. Edge products are particularly popular among school districts. As a result of this partnership, virtually every public school district in Ohio will be using the Year End Solutions software for W2 and 1099 processing.
