The W2 form for 2007 is basically the same as the 2006 form.  Changes are minor and editorial in nature.  You can safely order the same preprinted form styles, perforated paper, and envelopes as you did last year.  For the copies given to the employee use any of the following:

·          4 per page tiled (one form in each corner)

·          4 per page stacked (4 forms stacked top to bottom)

·          3 per page stacked (3 forms stacked top to bottom)

·          2 per page standard format

For employee copies we do recommend the 4 or 3 per page formats.  They allow you to print and distribute all needed copies for an employee on one page without collating or tearing.  We support the NELCO format for both laser generation and fill in on preprinted forms.  If printing laser generated forms, WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND USING PERFORATED PAPER WITH THE EMPLOYEE INSTRUCTIONS PREPRINTED ON THE BACK.   The YES program is capable of printing the employee instructions, but our instructions are designed for economy of space (taking up just one form space on the page) while the preprinted instructions are designed for appearance and ease of reading.  Our instructions are completely acceptable, but the preprinted instructions look better, are easier to read, and cost only minimally more.  If  you print the employee copy in the standard 2 per page style, we support both the IRS and the NELCO format, laser generated or fill in on preprinted forms.  The following table lists the NELCO W2 form numbers compatible with the YES software:

Continuous forms for dot-matrix printers:  The YES software supports the 1-up form in the standard format, and the “double-wide” format where both left and right sides are in the same standard format and are identical.  We do not support the style of double-wide form where one side is the standard layout and the other is in the condensed format (that is to say, where the left and right sides are not identical).

The 1099MISC form for 2007 is the same as for 2006.  Any changes are minor and editorial in nature.  For printing the RECIPIENT COPY (only), we have retained the older 3 per page style ( not for the IRS filing copy - “red” copy). 

You are required to furnish only one copy of a 1099 to a recipient.  This means that if you are printing the 2 per page style, you can meet the requirements by printing a copy B and recipient instructions on one page for the recipient.  Printing of additional copies (on additional pages) is optional.  Printing the recipient copies in the 3 per page style will allow you to print 2 forms plus instructions on one page as in the past.  The following table lists the NELCO 1099MISC form numbers compatible with the YES software:

NOTE 2:  be aware that if you use perforated paper 9ONEPERF05 for 1099s (perforated paper with no tear off side margin) that there are NO envelopes available that fit this paper.

The 1099B and 1099DIV forms are the same as for 2007.  Both are 1/2 page in size (starting in 2003).  The YES software prints these forms in the new format – laser generated and pre-printed.  The 3 per page styles are no longer available.
